Ariel Scott is an LA-based dancer, choreographer, and educator.
Deeply invested in dance as a practice of authenticity and empathy, her work explores the intricacies of human connection, sense of self, and the desire to be known.
Ariel's stage work has been presented by MashUp International Women’s Day Dance Festival, Stomping Ground LA VOICES festival series, and commissioned by Santa Monica College. Her screendance work “All a Blur” has been presented in ScreenDance RoadShow and Black Lives Rising Virtual Dance Film Festival, where it was awarded Best Experimental Film.
Ariel is a company member with Kybele Dance Theater, and has collaborated with companies and choreographers including Matter + Light, C. Eule Dance, Milkleaf, Jay Carlon, and Sri Susilowati.
Since becoming a certified Countertechnique teacher in 2024, Ariel has delighted in sharing the joy of dance through frequent open classes at Stomping Ground LA, and guest teaching at institutions including CalArts, UCLA, UC Irvine, LACHSA, and Westside Dance Project
She holds a BFA in Dance Choreography from UC Irvine and an AA in Dance from Santa Monica College.
