Ariel Scott is a dancer, choreographer, and educator with a deep belief in dance as a means for connection and community. Her work investigates the uncovering of self and the desire to be known, recognizing physicality as a uniquely adept avenue for authenticity.
Ariel has presented work in shows across Los Angeles, including the MashUp International Women’s Day Dance Festival, Stomping Ground LA VOICES festival series, and as a guest choreographer for Santa Monica College (SMC).
Since becoming a certified Countertechnique teacher in 2024, Ariel has delighted in sharing the joy of dance through frequent open classes at Stomping Ground LA, as guest faculty at  CalArts and LMU, and through masterclasses for UCLA and LACHSA, among others.
Ariel is a member of Kybele Dance Theater, directed by Seda Aybay, where she’s had the pleasure of performing since 2023. She has also been honored to perform professionally with Jay Carlon, Renée Donovan, Charlotte Griffin, and Sri Susilowati, and to study and perform with choreographers Keali’i Ceballos, Bill Evans, Ariyan Johnson, Angela Jordon,  Jae Lee, Mark Tomasic, and S. Ama Wray, among others.
She holds a BFA in Dance Choreography from UC Irvine and an AA in Dance from SMC.

"She is one of those rare dancers who is totally fearless, gives each movement her 100% attention, and although we know otherwise, makes it look possible for everyone. The combination of abandonment with total control and clarity is a rare gift indeed."
